Who are we?
My name is Eva Zatrak and I am the founder and creator of this site which I would love you to use as your ‘toolbox’ for aging. I would also love to thank to Deborah Cauz who helped me with the launching of this site.
Deborah is the editor, researcher and the writer of some pieces you’re going read here. She is a boomer and has always believed in the power of storytelling to create community and help us find what we need to help ourselves as well as each other.
If you asked what made me think of starting Boomertoboomeronline.ca, the answer is simple. You asked for it!
I am a Registered Nurse and I have been in the nursing profession since 1978. From bedside nursing I turned to community care nursing and have been running and co-owning a highly regarded private home care company in Etobicoke since 1995 – Thornbrook Home Care and recently opened one in Oakville: Thistlecreek Health Care Ltd.
On a daily basis I meet seniors, clients and their families who come to seek help for themselves or their loved ones. They may be looking for temporary relief as a family caregiver, an extra set of hands to assist with the  activities of everyday living or the tender loving care needed when someone chooses to die at home.
As in every corner of life, I also meet many people who need these services but can’t afford them. They don’t know where to turn, who to ask or what to do?
If that’s the case for you, you’re in the right place. Boomertoboomeronline.ca is a place where you can freely invest your time, not your money. It’s the place to ask questions, offer solutions, find resources and get answers.

September 3rd, 2010 at 8:07 pmGreat to find your site. I am an RN as well and have just launched my 2 books on Alzheimer’s . . . I cared for my mother for 7 years and the writing came out of that experience. I taped our conversations and my mother’s amazing voice weaves throughout all the work . .
