When you’re consistently under stress, this increases your risk of high blood pressure, which then increases your risk of various health complications. When you laugh, you release endorphins. The fact that laughter reduces stress hormones, most certainly plays a role in its ability to protect your heart. A study conducted at the University of Maryland, found that laughter may prevent heart disease.
